Rumors swirling around Apple's "Let's Rock" event this coming Tuesday generally focus on an expected fourth-generation iPod Nano (roundier and with a bigger screen), iTunes 8.0, iPhone 2.1 software, Mac OS X support for BluRay, and other tidbits. And whether they reached their goal of 10M sold iPhones in 2008 (or 12.8M, as the case may be). read more » |

Dad and I have been having a bit of a silly tiff lately. I don't even remember what started it, but it has gone on for three or four days. Tonight, I put my iPod on while I was cleaning up after dinner and Steve Goodman started singing "My Old Man." When he sang "I would give all I own to hear what he said when I wasn't listening" I almost broke down. I did put everything down and walk over to him. I gave him a hug and said simply "I love you Dad." Neither of us is good at this sort of sentimental stuff, but he just looked at me and said "Always Jim, Always." Thank goodness for Steve Goodman. read more » |

Apart from Gates’ little booty shake at the end it didn’t really do much for me apart from humanise Microsoft a bit. I am however withholding judgment on this until I see how the story plays out. Let’s be honest it was never going bring back the love straight away. Anything too cool it would have been accused of emulating the Apple brand, anything too funny or confrontational it would have been accused of copying Apple’s ‘PC and Mac’ ads. read more » |

These are just some ideas for computer tech. First one is a hybrid cpu cooler using both air and water to cool the cpu. The second is of a cooler for the XBox 360, instead of putting a cooler on the system you put the XBox in the cooler. Using three 120mm fans it blows air across and around the system and it raises it off it's bottom surface for optimal air flow. The final image is of a concept Apple TV motherboard. Like the original Apple TV it uses an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU but what is special is which ones it uses and anything extra. read more » |

read more » |

Apple Stuff is breaking down all around me! Although I'm a sucker for their style, one can't help but wonder if they've just lost the plot a little. Sure, I know that other stuff apparently breaks down, too. But well, let me just show you: It seems to me that their recent drop in prices is made up for by an effectively mandatory Applecare subscription and a lot of extra worry and hassle. Here's my personal list of Apple Related Hassle Mac Mini (PPC) I recommended my good friend Brendan to move to Apple after having some bad experiences with an imported PC. After showing him my Mac Mini I used a work, he was convinced. read more » |
