"Hello Developer,

We've reviewed your application Pull My Finger. We have determined that this application is of limited utility to the broad iPhone and iPod touch user community, and will not be published to the App Store.

It may be very appropriate to share with friends and family, and we recommend you review the Ad Hoc method on the Distribution tab of the iPhone Developer Portal for details on distributing this application among a small group of people of your choosing.

Regards,

A strange phenomena since it's not rejected due to be offencive in any way but due to "limited utility".
I mean if you look at the Apple Store you can find more software that has no function at all.
For example one of the most popular software named Koi Pond, how useful is that?!

I think Apple shouldn't Reject software due to "limited utility". Let people decide for themselves whether they think it's useful or not. As long as you give a good description where the software is all about. They should encourage developers to make applications and let them make some profit out of it.

But to speak in Apple's defense, I can understand the logic behind their rejection. If I were Apple I would offer my clients only high quality software. If you look at Nintendo Wii for example, how many terribly bad games came out for the Wii?! Really you wouldn't want that for the IPhone!
But maybe Apple should make another category for their store. They could name it "limited utility" ;)
This way developers get their change to make and sell software and the consumers can decide whether to buy it or not. And if a consumer buys it and complains about it being totally not useful, well what did you expect if you buy something from the "limited utility" category?!

So the bottom line is, Apple shouldn't reject software due to "limited utility", instead they should use such software in their advantage and should sell it in another category. Let the consumers decide whether it's useful or not!
