Some interesting insight on the Apple design process outlined in a presentation at SXSW by Michael Lopp (by way of Apple Insider). What is really interesting is this part of the process: |

I have been enjoying learning about Aperture 2.0. It has been a great help in rescuing my photos which usually don't look that good. I have found a couple of sites to be helpful. Apple's own tutorials are good though I have gotten more than a little sick of the intro music. Ellen Anon has a weblog dedicated to Aperture tips and tricks. And I have recently started listening to the podcast "This Week in Photography". |

I have been having an itch for DOS games. The old point-and-click/text adventures like Monkey Island, Quest series, Discworld, Leisure Suit Larry, and so on. I had downloaded Monkey Island 4 for Mac, but unfortunately since I have Leopard installed, Classic mode no longer runs, so I kinda screwed myself over with that until I decide to downgrade to Tiger again. So... I downloaded DOSBox which is a DOS emulator for all you Abandonware lovers. It works perfect actually, sound and graphic quality. Not too long ago I was playing Teen Agent. |

There is a competition on the Mac broadband website. Some lucky person who signs-up for Sky broadband via the Mac broadband website in March 2008 will win an ipod shuffle. The competition is not endorsed by Sky - rather it is a bit of fun and the chance to win something. If you were considering signing up for Sky you may as well do it this March and win yourself a little prize. Sign-ups via the Mac Broadband websites are low so your chance of winning are pretty good. For details of the Sky broadband competition vist Mac Broadband.

A day after the announcement on Feb 26 i placed my order. I was actually on the online store the second they updated the product. I was there hitting the refresh button for a good 20 minutes and then boom right there the store was back online and on the screen the latest apple laptop. I've been looking for a laptop since October. Well not really looking but waiting. I knew i wanted to get the MacBook Pro, i was just waiting for the latest update to be released. I know.. I know this is not a significant update as people were also expecting a case redesign but it was big enough for my needs. The previous edition had more than enough power for me and when you through in the cool multi touch track pad you just can't help but smile. I was so going crazy waiting for it. |

The conference will be taking place in the west hall of the Moscone Centre and will run from June 9 - 13 and have three tracks available: iPhone, Mac, and IT. No word yet on whether Steve Jobs will be delivering a keynote or what the ticket prices will be, but I'm sure that info will be released soon. For more info check out the official WWDC 08 page here. As of 10 this morning I am on spring break! I feel like a deer in the headlights when confronted with free time, but I expect I'll get over it. It is COLD outside, but I still took my scooter out for its first spring fling. I froze my tush off. Snot came down my face and it was so cold I didn't notice until I stopped at a light, so I probably looked super cool frantically mopping away strands of mucus and trying to look surreptitious about it. |

I am sad, the domain name I was almost thinking about using for this blog is taken or at least it's not available from GoDaddy.com for now. I am trying to think of other domain names that I might be interested in using but I will have to think about that. Maybe Dennisthetechguy.com is what I should use, but I am not sure. That's available, but do I really want to pay for domain name right now. What's the point. I hardly have any visitors to my blog as it is, why should I attach it to a silly domain name and cost myself money. I think I will save my money to get a nice shiny iPod touch. I should put a Paypal donation button on here, I wonder if I could raise any money. I should really start doing a podcast but who wants to listen to me. I'm not sure what I would talk about. |
