Had you told me a year ago that Verizon would win the big 700 MHz spectrum auction, and therefore cement the wireless duopoly it has with AT&T I would have been very gloomy.But this was before the iPhone.

While all of us were looking anxiously to Google, hoping it would swoop in and outbid a company which had every incentive to win (while it had none), we were missing the bigger story.

The iPhone changed the game.

The iPhone changed the wireless game because iPhone users move tons more data than users of any other wireless device. How much more? Something like 500 times more.

Apple RAW update fixes hole, adds cameras
Apple today unveiled Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 2.0 for Aperture 2 and

iPhoto 7.1.2, which patches a security hole, and adds many RAW formats from several different vendors. The patch fixes a problem wherein Adobe Digital Negative files could trigger a buffer overflow condition.

Adobe has started development of a Flash player suitable for use on Apple Inc.'s iPhone, company chief executive Shantanu Narayen said Tuesday.

Narayen made the revelation during a conference call with investors, explaining that Apple's recent release of an iPhone software developers kit (SDK) has afforded his company the necessary tools to finally begin work a version of its proprietary media player for the touch-screen handset.

Na? Das Wortspiel mit "Ostern" und "iPhone", "Ey-Burger" und "In der Ey" bemerkt? Auch egal. Es geht eigentlich um "Schöner Spielen vor Ostern". Warum das? Üblicherweise treffen wir uns mit ein paar Freunden einmal im Monat an einem Donnerstag in der Lokalität "In der Ey" in Zürich.

Dieses Mal lief die Einladung etwas kurzfristig. Peter "Zimmi" kam schon Nachmittags bei mir in der Arbeit vorbei. Wir programmierten ein wenig an Lichtszenen mit RGB-LEDs herum. Da er das Projekt noch heute fertig machen wollte/musste, fuhr er anschliessend gegen 18 Uhr dorthin. Daher fiel für ihn als alten Stammtischler der Stammtisch flach. Namenskollege Tom Sperlich kam allerdings. Wir besorgten uns einen Billardtisch und versenkten ein paar Kugeln während wir auf Mike warteten.
