My dearest "ippe"

Har suttit med iTunes i timmar och fixat och trixat, så nu äntligen, som belöningen, delar jag med mig av nedstående dagsform enligt iPodoraklet.. Ingen vidare syn må sägas, whatever..

How am I feeling today, dear iPod? Move Along

Will I get far in life, dear iPod? Sweet Escape

How do my friends see me, dear iPod? Hope

When will I get married, dear iPod? Walou

What is my best friend’s theme song, dear iPod? Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Apple Patents Holographic Display

On March 20, 2008 Apple was granted a patent on a holographic display technology. This would enable Mac users to display images in true 3-D. They stated that to do so would require much more computational power and bandwidth than most current computers. They also said in the application that the current 2-D systems are not adequate because, even with 3-D rendering they appear unrealistic and flat. Below are images and text clips from the actual patent application.

Apple has eye on autostereoscopic imaging

You never know what Apple is going to do next, so lately people have taken to sniffing out their patents to find out. Turns out they have a big improvement to video conferencing in mind (ok, it has way further impications than cool new iChat video effects)...

Friday 5 o’clock Cocktail – Apple Martini

Apple MartiniThere are about a ton of ways to make an Apple Martini. The method below works well for me, although sometimes I just leave out the Vodka and double-up on the Gin.

This is a very strong drink, so don’t even consider operating heavy machinery like a car or a speedboat, or a catapult after you’ve had one of these.

You'll also have to have a large martini glass. This thing ain't suitable for the little dainty kind. You need one of those super-sized martini glasses!

Got iTunes for Windows? You might have Safari now, too

[Updated to include a link on another related piece from Tom Krazit at Cnet. - Nanci]

Yesterday Apple used it's Software Update system to send out updates to iTunes, and it offers to upgrade your Safari, Apple's web browser, even if you don't have it installed already.<!--more-->

The biggest problem with this is that most users will see that there are two updates and just click the Install button without paying that much attention to what's getting offered. (Windows users should really know better than that after some of the borked updates Microsoft has sent out, but that's another matter.)

Apple Finally Did It

itunes-cover.jpg

I know, the news is from yesterday... but waiting for years... I am excited...

Here it is... Apple goes subscription! Steve changed his mind.  Bundling will win the "paid  content music game" (why? ...).

The Itunes  store and the brand Apple have a good chance to survive against the "free competition". For the rest ... the quality level is high now.

Apple to Windows Users: Run One, Run All!

The mid- to late-90s seemed to be the heyday of software vendors deciding that if you ran one of their products, you'd want a bunch more as well. In my opinion, it was not Microsoft, but Real, that typified this behavior and annoyed me greatly.

Even when all I wanted was their media player, it seemed I was stuck with their little message center and other crap. Turning it all OFF was a pain in the rectum, and in my opinion should never have been necessary. It made me hate Real, and I've yet to install any more than the minimum software of theirs needed.
