I have been on a Powerbook since December. I am still waiting for my moment of epiphany when I really perceive Mac as being superior to Windows. To be fair, most of the problems that I have on my Mac are related to Windows software and networking. I primarily wanted a Mac for music and film editing. But if you are working in a Windows Office / Exchange environment, you're going to encounter more issues than a PC user. |

If you use a Mac, making bootable backups are easy, and definitely easier than on a Windows Computer. Using software like Carbon Copy Cloner or Superduper you can clone your Mac's hard drive to another internal or external USB/Firewire drive. This copy is an exact image of the original drive so you can boot from it and see no difference to using the source drive. Add in smart copies that only copy the changes since the last backup and you have a fast, reliable and easy backup system. Scheduled backups even mean you don't have to remember to backup, just check it's working as planed. |

Over the last few months I have adapted my way of working to Dave Allen's Getting Things Done (GTD) method. If your not sure what this is then check out the book, audio book, Dave's site or that of Merlin Mans (43folders.com). As I am inundated with emails etc I had being looking for a practical tool to help me. I have tried OmniFocus for the Mac. It works very well however for some folks it is quite expensive at $79.00 and only available for the Mac. As a consultant I find myself using different laptop and desktop computers, so I find I can't always use my Mac. |

Rumor has it that the latest version of Safari for the iPhone will be packing a you tube plugin. This would hit the market with the release of the 2.0 iPhone software this summer. This is an improvement over the standalone You Tube app that graces the iPhone firmware in its current incarnation.Really though, you tube on the iPhone isn't that great of a feature. If I really want to watch videos, I will probably use my laptop. That doesn't mean, however, that I don't get some use out of it. It is just limited. What we really need is the landscape keyboard in all of our apps. Oh Well...
