On Humax and Set Top Boxes

I recently bought a Humax Set Top Box following the demise of my Freesat STB. Apart from Citylink Beckenham making me wait an hour to collect it I am delighted all round. These things are pure genius and I have no doubt Humax will take over the world while bigger companies are fannying around with things like DVD recorders and Blu Ray. The real breakthrough will come when PVRs get wifi and can connect directly to the Internet.

iTunes ate my iPod

On the insistence of iTunes I decided to update my iPod Touch to the new software version 1.14

After nearly an hour downloading, I tried to switch my iPod back on to see if all had gone well, and quite simply it hadn't.

I have now spent the last hour restoring the factory settings to my machine and have lost my capability to send and receive e-mails, weather, notepad, stocks and the thing that pisses me off the most...all my contacts, over 200 of them!

I have just the simple 8gb version of the Touch and it does seem to be a bit of a coincidence in the light of the newer, bigger 32gb version just recently being released, something I cannot afford and at the moment I don't really want to upgrade to.

Iphone in Italia a 499 euro?

A presto.

Vinyl Mac Desktop

Official: HBO now on iTunes

Episodes of Rome and The Sopranos pop for $2.99 while The Wire and Sex and the City (yes the complete series) go for the iTunes "standard" pricing of $1.99. We just fired-up iTunes and confirmed it just like the rumor predicted. With Apple backing down from its strict, flat-rate pricing...

creating a blog..

.. took just as long and lots of nerves as the other times. All the questions and decisions..

Some weeks ago I found iWeb on a iMac which I use to take when I visit my friend. And I really liked it. I still like it. The templates are brilliant and there was no need to think about all the stuff beyond the content. Actually I thought iWeb brings everything I need.

My life is changing and inspired from iWeb I wanted to start -for the third time- my own blog with some pages about me, some pictures from my traveling etc. But there was still one BIG question: How can I create several categories for my blog when I use iWeb?! Hey, I want to write about different things and don't want to mix them all up!

GEE!!
