Ohne iPod - Tag 2

Bryan Appleyard: Barack Obama the MacBook Pro?

Those following these humble early days on TWA will probably already detect that amongst my travels on the web, I frequent the BBC's many and various blogs quite regularly. Imagine my surprise, then, when browsing Justin Webb's (excellent, by the way) ramblings about all things stateside, I should come across this witty and insightful appraisal of US presidential candidate Barack Obama - the Apple Mac of US politics.

Apparently, Hillary is a Windows laptop - and when you see Bryan's excellent justifications for this argument, you'll probably chuckle as much as I did.

Fall into Summer

This weekend I found myself with some roasted butternut squash on my hands.  What to do?  What to do?  The squash filling was already so sweet I thought I may as well just go with it.  So I made an impromptu sweet butter sauce.  I made it up as I went along and served it up as an appetizer.  For me, it was too sweet to be a main but I think it could work for the right palette or as a spicy and sweet warmer upper on a chill fall night.

Apple lies

Apple offers a rebate of $100 when you purchase a i Mac and a Canon printer.  I recently bought a new i Mac and the Cannon printer, but received no rebate as promised.  Apple tells lies!

I found the process to obtain the rebate a series of HOOPS one jumps through,  with the bone at the end ($100).  And although I read a number of warnings like this one online,  prior to purchase, I jumped through a number of the HOOPS before giving up on my “bone”.
