Where else can you see an 8-bit Twinkie?

We went and saw "Wall-E" last night. As a huge Pixar fan (with the exception of "Cars"), I could be a little biased in my review but it was fan-friggin-tastic.

We ventured out to a 9:25pm showing hoping to avoid having a massive kid audience. When we got to the theater, Dan and I were wary as there were quite a lot of children under the age of 10 around. However, it turns out their parents failed in getting a sitter and dragged these kids to see "Wanted". Erm...yeah, let's save my "WTF are parents thinking these days?" rant for another time.

On to "Wall-E". I'll keep it spoiler free as it did just come out.

Apple Notebook Shipments Skyrocket 61%

DisplaySearch, a market research firm, is reporting that Apple's sales of notebook computers are up 61% from 1st Quarter, 2007 to 1st Quarter, 2008. In that fiscal quarter, Apple shipped over 1.4 million notebooks, compared to almost 900,000 the year before. That puts Apple just behind Asus in terms of growth year-to-year, as the Taiwanese board and component maker saw a 67% growth rate. Most other notebook manufacturers saw growth rates in the 20 - 40% range.

Brand Tags: it's sort of like marketing research...but fun!

Brandtags.net was started by a man who wanted to prove that the concept of a brand exists only in people's minds.  The website shows you a company logo and you "tag" it with the first thing that comes to mind.  You can look at the "tag cloud" for each company (the more people use a tag, the bigger its text is).  An additional feature randomly pairs 2 brands and lets you vote for the "better" one (operating like puppywar.com).  Yet another feature lets you try to guess the company from the tag cloud.

I am angry, at the crazy Rogers iPhone plan and this douchebag

So this douchebag says, "I can afford an iPhone in Canada and if you can't, shame on you for not making enough money."

Well, if you think you can afford it, oh wow, like good for you, no one cares.

<!--more-->

The douchebag commented on my blog here, man if he/ she didn't comment on my blog, I wouldn't be so pissed.

Apple Mail + Gmail

When I originally went to setup Apple Mail with my Gmail account, I ran into some annoyances (mainly, unauthorized label creation).  I'm not sure if I missed it before, but there is an Apple Mail 3.0 (Leopard) IMAP walk-through provided by Google.  Even better, there is a Recommended IMAP client settings section.  Things appear to be running a lot smoother for now.  Hopefully, these links help out others facing similar situations.
