Are we 24 hours behind Canada and the UK? iTunes Rentals With 48-hour Time Limit!

ITunes Rentals Arrive in Canada, UK With 48-hour Time Limit

8E2C30D8-0438-4FB2-9BE5-CCACFC70A531.jpgApple's newly announced movie rental service for its iTunes offerings in Canada and the United Kingdom may come several months after the same service debuted in the United States. But the Canadian and British versions of movie rentals do carry one substantial difference--customers in those markets will have 48 hours to finish a movie once they start watching it. That's twice as long as U.S. customers have.

Mark - Seeking help on Animation Project

Mark Overmars is currently seeking help for an animation experiment conducted by his research group at the Utrecht University.

According to a post by Mark on the GMC:
"One of the topics we study is how to create walking animations out of short recorded motions of real people. The main problem here is to blend the motion segments to create realistically looking total motions. It is difficult to establish what "realistic" means here."

In total there are 43 questions (separated into 2 parts) in the survey which involve viewing animations and rating how realistic they appear.

Wszystkiego Najlepszego, Apple II!

Dokładnie 31 lat temu, 5 czerwca 1977, do sprzedaży w Stanach Zjednoczonych wszedł komputer Apple II.

What is vlc4iphone capable of? At the moment it may be limited by only a small handfull of decoders, but soon that list will grow! It currently allows you to drag and drop the following popular media formats onto your iPhone/iPod Touch for playback: MPEG / MPG,AVI,MP3.
It also supports some lesser known media formats.

Soon it will play: FLAC,OGG

Here's something for you 16 year olds who love developing:

This boy has been privately invited by Steve Jobs to go to the
WWDC 2008 FREE and will get a first class ticket and a private meeting with Steve Jobs himself."

During the WWDC, Apple will post podcasts on iTunes FREE of charge! Also, when Apple does this, anyone will be able to download this as long as they have an internet connection

New Apple Promotion!

Now, with every non-refurbrished Mac you buy, you will recieve an all expenses paid iPod Touch (only for Students) Of course the only downfall is the refurbrished... and Apple will NOT send an iPod Touch if you buy a Mac Mini.

If you buy a $1200 iMac, you will ecieve a $300 iPod touch. What Apple is trying to do is make you buy an iMac or MacBook (Cheapest one) for 25% off, then buy an iPod Touch. For example:

i got an iMac with the promotion and recieved an iPod Touch with it.

The iMac was $1200 with the iPod Touch. This means that the overall price for each would be:

iMac- $900

iPod- 300 as usual!

REMEMBER: THIS IS FOR STUDENTS ONLY

Canadian iTunes Store Now Has Movies..... Bye Bye Bell!

You'll recall that I said the following when Bell Canada came out with their half assed video store:

"I’m going to sit back and watch this service get utterly destroyed by the Apple iTunes service as it’s clear that Bell doesn’t have a clue needed to think this through a bit more before rolling this out to the public."
