Server, connectivity problems add to Apple's MobileMe woes

A mail server crash and unexpected fiber-optic line problems are the latest in a long string of hiccups that have soured the launch of Apple's new MobileMe internet service and recently left some subscribers without email access for as many as five straight days.

Apple's support forums are rife with complaints from affected users, many of which are just as frustrated with the company's poor communication over the matter as they are with the service outage itself. Several also doubt an official assessment of the scope of the problem posted to the MobileMe support site, which states that only 1 percent of subscribers have lost access to their email.

Macbook Touch: new Newton 2.0 rumors surface after conference call

Here we go again.

After Apple's third quarter 2008 conference call, Apple chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer hinted at "product transitions" - and BOOM, everyone goes nuts over What That Means.

It could mean something as simple as Macbooks being $200 cheaper (imagine that!), but that wouldn't be as exciting. Oh dear, no.

Live from my iPod Touch!

photo

Well it's finally here! My blogging has been rather sparse of late due to a post holiday and new job overload of can't be arsed to syndrome. However now Wordpress has got it's act together and released this wonderful blogging app for iPhone/Touch I have a feeling I'll probably be blogging a lot more!

Yes there are definitely a few issues to resolve but I'm mightily impressed with the first version and look forward to it joining Super Monkey Ball, Cube Runner, Remote et al on my home screen!

To save a photo from the web using mobile safari just tap and hold down the image, you will be asked if you want to save the image. Saved images are stored in a folder in the Photos app.

PS: I posted this using the Wordpress App for iPhone/iPod Touch, even the image was capture/uploaded entirely on my iPod.

iPod Touch works with Wordpress!

Surprisingly, it is quite easy to blog from the iPod Touch using the new Wordpress app. I would not want to write a lengthy article this way, but it works nicely for short blog entries.
