5 million movies is pretty substantial and it doesn't hurt when Steve is on the Disney boad! "Disney president Bob Iger announced that since agreeing to sell movies through iTunes, the company has sold over five million titles. He also wanted to point out that some of the agreements were made “before the purchase of Pixar” to assure investors that Apple CEO Steve Jobs (who is on the board of directors) has not influenced any decision on content distribution.(of course not) (Via Apple Gazette) |

Apple, You guys have a done great job with the iPhone. You set a new standard. You raised the bar. Yet, what were you thinking when you handed over your reputation to the most notorious telecom company in the world? Were you more interested in satisfying your greedy investors than your countless fans around the world? Why? Why? |

Lots of websites, such as Giz, Macrumors, and Engadget are claiming that we'll have new Macbooks and iPod Nanos in Septmeber. It's just a rumor, but is still a pretty good bet that they'll come. I believe that Apple will redesign their Nano again to have a skinny sideways wide screen, and the Macbooks will have glass multi-touch trackpads. But who knows, what do you think?

Well my grandpa bill has flown in from oaklahoma to california and he is one of the funniest people I have ever met! Also my Mom got an apple iPhone today and I'm really jelious. Her blackberry curve broke this morning. She just like the GPS and I have to show her how to use an iPhone! So my mom, dad & I have iPhone's except me and my dad don't have 3G's but my mom promised me one! |

It's a new MacBook, alhamdulillah! Well, new-ish... I bought it second hand, but it's less than a year old, masha'Allah. [caption id="attachment_622" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="My New Mac Family"] From right to left (also from oldest to newest): My faithful iMac G4 (aka the "iLamp"); my 'foster' iBook (soon to be wiped and returned to its true family: my old research lab); my iPod Touch (the 'baby' of the family); and finally: my funky MacBook (the black sheep of the family - badoom tish. Hang on, the Touch is also black. Oh pants!). |

I ran into the not-so-good error of "The device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media" on my less than a year old MacBook Pro the other day and was not too happy. Being that I work in a Dell shop, I know that all their PC's come with built in hardware diagnostics. I knew Apple had to include one on theirs as well, but where. It's pretty simple really, power off your computer, and when you power it back on press and hold the D key on your keyboard and your Mac will enter diagnostic mode where it will test the hardware inside your lappy. See the screensnap below. |
