Pineapple Diva

Pineapple has been one of my favorite fruits, and I'll never get tired eating it :o) Back home, we have a variety of pineapple. We have different sizes and kinds, like pinepple with seeds, and tiny orange colored pineapple but succulently sweet. I and my siblings used to eat like 2 to 3 medium sized pineapples in a day especially on summer, and the wierd thing we do is that, we dipped it on salt to make it sweeter. I don't really know why it's like that, but trust me, just give it a try and you'll see what I'm talking about :o) But the most unforgettable experienced I have with this juicy tropical fruit, is the way my father peeled it. I was in grade school when my father showed me on how to "properly" peeled a pineapple, and my oh my, I was so amazed.

MacBook Pro - Trouble Connecting External Microphone

I have such an itch to get into Pwnage.TV commentating, but I have been having mic troubles with my MacBook Pro. All this time I have been using my built-in, and it has really been picking up the sound of my fans, so I decided that it was time to buy myself a headset!

I was really excited to get my new Plantronics 365 in the mail; the sound is so crisp, and I had previously been using an 8 year old pair of Sony headphones that only had sound in one ear with my built-in mic! I am really glad that Kilat recommended me this model. Imagine trying to figure out where someone's footsteps are coming from in CS when you can only hear through one ear... it was pretty lame!

the windows/mac/linux debate - what a waste of time

unless you have some pretty niche software needs it really doesn't matter which operating system you use

most people power up their pc (and by pc i mean personal computer), open a web browser to check their email and favorite websites, use a media player, edit some documents... and that's about it. all the main browsers run on windows, mac and linux alike and they all support the major photo, video and music formats, so why the big fuss?

BBEdit 9.0

I was really happy to see BBEdit 9.0 released yesterday, I have been using it for coding for a very long time (13-14 years now I think), I checked the new features list which is impressive, and so I put down my upgrade fee and installed it.

Unfortunately for me there are a couple of show-stopper bugs in there. For some reason the function popup does not list all the methods in Java files, and the search and replace does not always wrap around. I think I will be going back to 8.7.2 until they get those sorted out.

The Podspot

The PodSpot is one large industrial sized speaker system designed for your wee iPod - or any other Mp3 player for that matter. It’s splash proof and designed to be rugged enough for outdoor events. Surprisingly it’s battery powered pushing a multitude of tweeters, horns and two 10″ subwoofers good enough for 24 hours. Us Chicagoans have to wait till next summer unfortunately.

Obstacles to Mobile Learning #2: Photocopying

I had a conversation in Twitter about the high costs of photocopying and how these costs consume so much of a school budget.  The waste is so high that it reduces a school's ability to invest in technology.
