iPod docks are a dime a dozen, but this dock really sets itself apart from the rest by being extremely large and powerful. a.m. Obviously, it's about the iPod. But if you look at it carefully,
there may be other hints. Let the speculation begin:

• As you can see in the invitation they, it is worth noting that the aspect ratio is not
widescreen, but the usual 4:3 screen common in all current iPods. Maybe
they are trying to put our hopes for a widescreen iPod down?

• The iPod in the song cover seems elongated, although it may be an effect of the perspective.

That's what Apple is planning to do next week, according to Engadget and MacRumors.

It occurs to me that many (if not, most) prominent marketers in the blogosphere use Apple products. After all, marketers pride themselves on image, perception and being cool - exactly what Apple offers.

Which made it strange when I attended a workshop on consumer behavior, to find that the marketing people were raving about Microsoft and PCs. Even weirder was the fact that they were hating on all Apple products, from the Macbooks to the iPhone. I spent considerable time arguing the benefits of the Mac OS. I then spent more time trying to protect my personal safety by hiding/switching off my iPhone. 

I love Apple. But for lawyers, it's not currently practical to completely switch over to Macs (compatibility issues).

It will go down either as the day Google proved its software chops, or as the day it finally bit off more than it could chew.

In the US, the debate is on as to whether the new in car entertainment systems should include both HD and Satellite radio. The main thing that HD Radio will bring is greater quality in the signal and potentially more information about what you are listening to. Of course the quality does require that you have a good signal and in a country made up of volcanic rock in many places, the signal may not be great, so it may be that dropout still occurs in places.

It's confirmed, September 9th will be the day for the Apple Special Event. Apple's Special Event Day does in fact include the iPod Nano re-design updates for 2008. There has not yet been any word whether or not this will be a iPod-Mac combined event but I sure hope so. I'm looking to buy a Macbook soon and I don't want the new version to be released a few weeks after I get mine. Has anyone else heard anything about a Macbook update coming within the next week?
