This right here is almost monumental for me. I've been using Agua icons for my iPod Touch from when it first came out months ago. I think I've written about it before and praising it. What I like about that theme is the abundant amount of icons developed for it from the many MacThemes forum members. Every application/web app I've ever had on my springboard has received it's very own unique icon. But enough about Agua, this post is about a new them I've found - Gruppled. A couple off days ago, I realized I wanted a change because I realized that Agua didn't feel like I was theming my iPod, only making it clean am uniform. Although I love that, I felt that what I should get out of any theme is a makeover - something that looks good and has functionality. Something that would positively change the iPod's graphical side without negatively affecting my day to day use of it. And this Gruppled fits in for me. Gruppled is a theme based on rotating abstract wallpapers and transparent icons and docks. There aren't a lot of icons available so some might overlap or you might need to SSH into your iPod to change the names of some icons to match the apps that Gruppled doesn't have icons for. However, the ones that are there look really good against the given wallpapers - mainly because the icons are transparent! When all the SSHing is done and everything matches up, the view is nice. Gruppled themes the icons, badges, sliders, and rotating wallpapers (springboard and lock screen). There are 3 faux-reflection dock variations: one for a 3-icon dock, one for a 4, and one for a 5. I've matched this theme with the Mac UI tweak and the MacBook Air Keyboard tweak to get a very nice mix of abstract colors and shapes and monochromatic goodness. With a little work, you can make your iPod look completely different and appealing at the same time. Gruppled Theme is available for download in Cydia for Winterboard; so is Mac UI and MacBook Air Keyboard. Here are some screenshots (and wallpapers) of Gruppled in action: |
