"Cupertino, California (Agencies). In a surprising move that is set to stun consumers all over the world, Apple has cancelled all orders for the iPhone 3G today. People who already bought the phones will get them replaced by Apple's new wonderproduct, the iBrick 3G. "We think it's the best thing we can do for our customers worldwide," Apple CEO Steve Jobs declared in a conference call with analysts, "I mean, they won't really notice the difference after trying to activate their iPhone 3G for the billionth time, would they? WOULD THEY?" (more...) -Jesus Diaz, Gizmodo" This isn't real. So you can put down the shotgun... Oh well. Let this be a lesson learned on the consequences of in store activation... I have to imagine that some people are getting fired from Apple for the problems with the iPhone 2 Release. From what I saw on the TWiT Live Coverage of this event, not a lot of people got their phones today, and in New York, I believe I even heard that the lines were disbanded by NYPD, for safety issues. Apple, unfortunatly misjudged the necessary resources needed to meet iPhone 2 activations. Maybe in the future the iphone will make up for all of thiss. They could do a number of things. Like adding Video conferencing... |
